CCF Summary

The American Society of Head & Neck Radiology Core Curriculum Fund (CCF) was created in 2008 with the specific mission of supporting research and educational activities that advance the field of Head & Neck imaging.  Over the past 10 years, the CCF has reinvested nearly $250,000 into our society by annually funding the William N Hanafee MD Research Grant, ASHNR Core Curriculum Research Seed Grant and special educational sessions at our annual meeting.  Since inception, the CCF has already supported the careers of 14 junior faculty and trainees.  The outcomes of these projects are presented at the annual meeting and the results have led to many of these techniques such as diffusion, perfusion, PET-CT, zero echo time MRI and MR neurography being used in clinical practice.

In additional to translational science, the CCF has supported advancements in evidence based medicine by partnering with the National Lung Cancer Screening Trial to evaluate incidental thyroid nodules detected in this landmark study and integrate these findings into ACR TI-RADS Score.

The CCF also provides funding for numerous annual meeting awards.  These include awards for the best scientific exhibits, best educational exhibits and the prestigious Radiologist-In-Training award.

The goals of the CCF are the fundamental mission of the ASHNR and we are firmly committed to its continued success.  The CCF is predominantly dependent on investment income and member contributions.  We ask you to consider providing support to the CCF to support our multiple mission with your tax-deductible gift. 100% of your donation will go to funding the research and educational missions of the ASHNR and ensure the continued success of Head & Neck Radiology.
